Joe Murray

Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Joe Murray and I’m a guitar player singer, born and raised in Troy, NY (home of Uncle Sam) and now currently living in Frederick, MD.  I have always been drawn to music as long as I can remember. Listening to pop and rock & roll on the radio. I first started playing the drums in my early teens and then picked up the guitar in college. Over the years I have played cover and original music in various sized bands and as a solo act.   Although I play various types of music, my go-to is rock and roll, from soft to hard, pop to progressive, and blue to bright. My 200+-song repertoire consists mostly of classic rock seasoned with a variety of other music types and original songs and I am always learning new songs.  I normally prepare for each gig by rehearsing more songs then needed and then tailoring the show to the audience. I also keep track what songs are played at each performance to ensure every show is unique.  I am properly equipped for almost any type or size gig by having the right size sound system to match the venue, effects pedals to provide backup vocals and play solos without use of prerecording material, and stage lighting, as needed.  I invite you to come out and check out a show at the events posted on the calendar.
